Kathy Powzun is a passionate educational leader with a proven track record of fostering, achieving and enhancing school improvement. She has a strong commitment to working collaboratively with educational leaders, to cultivate the accomplishment of high expectations for learning and champion excellence at both a local and system level.
In 2014, after 11 years as a dedicated principal at both Heckenberg and Liverpool West Public schools, Kathy commenced the position of Director, Public Schools NSW serving in support of both the Campbelltown and then Strathfield Principal Networks. Kathy is substantively engaged as the Director, School Operations and Performance, driving innovation, efficiency and evidence based practices across the more than 2,200 schools in the NSW Public Education system.
Kathy is currently the Executive Director, Bushfire Relief Strategy, School Operations and Performance. She is committed to leading the team in developing a systems response to preparedness, response and recovery for our learning communities impacted by the unprecedented 2019/20 bushfire period.
Kathy employs agile, strategic and resourceful leadership for progressing extensive system reform and change. She is committed to collaboration at all levels to ensure students are at the centre of all educational decision making.
